I say sneak peak because I just didn’t take enough snaps (and very much hope the photographer who joined us may allow me to use some of his to show you in coming days). In the meantime, here is a token collection (that I took too hurriedly then felt compelled to put my camera away!). To begin with, the weather couldn’t have been more kind…it was simply glorious. We were spoiled with blossom, fresh spring growth and the very first (though single so far) peony poppies.

As to taste…every single morsel was delectable, delicious, scrumptious, colourful, seasonal and local, with all the veg from Martin’s Cooks Co-Op at Sackville (and there were many veg!) enjoyed by one and all.

We were spoiled with a collection of breads from the Sonoma Bakery and it was a delightful surprise to find rounds of Pepe Saya butter on the table….naughty, but how often do we add a sweep of the best butter to a chunk of just-baked bread? I reckon we should do it more often!

Our feast was presided over by one of Charlotte Thodey’s beautiful still-life paintings.  Direct from her ‘larder’ it looked so at home, that I don’t think anyone realised it wasn’t a permanent fixture and actually for sale!  (I’d make a completely useless gallery owner!).

To MartinAlex and their team of smiling and efficient helpers…..it was a feast to remember.  Thank you from me, Larry and all our lovely guests. I very much hope that Bird Cow Tree chooses to swing by Glenmore again some time soon.  (And I will post more pictures of the day just as soon as I can….but did he capture the artichoke, rocket & willow brae goat’s curd salad, the poached spring chicken with so many veg I’m not going to try and OMG Alex’s chocolate mousse & candied cumquats – died & gone to dessert heaven?!).
