'Planting up' of the Winter Kitchen Garden here is now almost complete: I've been busy! A whole set of new structures are in place; seed is popping everywhere - either self-sown or deliberate, while a handful of plants straddle the seasons. It's an exhilerating time to be in (and to see) the garden and I very much hope you will join in our WINTER KITCHEN GARDENING DAY next week, on FRIDAY 3 MAY, while there is so much information to share.
A fledgling garden at this particular stage of season, it makes for an ideal time to learn, and while the focus will be on perennial veg, winter veg and citrus, the afternoon's activities will include a full session about MAKING COMPOST - that beautiful dark stuff you see in the image above. For the day's lunch, I feel a little soup may be in order.....and perhaps it's even time for the first autumn crumble!
We would be delighted to have you join us for a day to learn, meet like-minded souls, to eat good food and generally have an inspiring day's adventure. Linda, (who is all fired up about her next teaching day here) and I will look forward to seeing you next week.
