I am delighted to invite you to 'DISOBEDIENT GARDENS' and LUNCH with MICHAEL COOKE at GLENMORE HOUSE on FRIDAY 12 MAY.
While I simply love the slightly irreverent title of his recently released book, I've also had the opportunity to lose myself in the beautiful imagery by Brigid Arnott and to enjoy the explanation Michael offers to his insightful approach to garden design. His gardens are, in fact, well and thoughtfully planned, representative of their place in the landscape, emotive, compelling, and I look forward to hearing more about them from the man himself (and to seeing some of those images increased in scale on the Dairy wall!).
To follow Michael's presentation, we will enjoy a seasonal, garden-inspired lunch in the loggia - many of you know the form by now - outside but under cover, with a view to the Borders (which will hopefully still be in fine autumn display).
I thought this would make a perfect pre-Mother's Day outing....as I know Michael's gardens will appeal across the generations. And I think Glenmore is the perfect location for Michael's talk....as you just know how disobedient the garden at Glenmore really is!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. For all the details and to make a booking, please click here, and Michael and I will very much hope to see you on the day.
In the meantime, I hope you are enjoying these very special days of Easter.....it's absolutely the best gardening time of the year!
Very best wishes
