Garden herb-filled quiche.....

Hello everyone,

Good heavens, where is the year flying to?  I just realised that October is next week.....and therefore our SPRING QUICHES, TARTS & FLANS WORSHOP with BARBARA SWEENEY is almost upon us....on FRIDAY 6 OCTOBER!

What fun we had at the autumn workshop.  We're so looking forward to doing it all again....but this time with spring pickings from the garden.  It's a class for everyone - where you really will learn to make pastry.  A gentle class, but thorough. Then, after a morning of flour and butter and eggs and iced water; flan tins and tart tins, baking trays and rolling pins (during which you are bound to work up a hearty appetite) you will enjoy a late lunch! 

Following Barbara's hugely successful FOOD & WORDS event at The Mint in Sydney a couple of weeks ago, I just know she's all fired up with the latest in the world of chefs, farming, cookbooks and well....all things food related.  If ever there was anyone right in the midst of that whirlpool of food knowledge, it' s Barbara Sweeney.  So you are likely to hear many a fascinating tidbit or insight during the course of the day.....

ps There's just one place left at the morning session and two at the afternoon session of this coming Saturday's inThe Kitchen Garden with Mickey.  The kitchen garden is at its absolute peak spring best, so if you're feeling spontaneous, this really is a good opportunity to glean rather a lot of information....(and if you happen to follow along on instagram, you'll see where I plan to make Belinda Jeffery's delicious spring greens pie (following her fabulous workshop here the other day) for lunch!
