King Parrot in the fennel....

Hello everyone,

First, of all HAPPY NEW YEAR!  I hope you had some time to down tools and enjoy a lazy, hazy holi-day or two.

is now LIVE!

You can click HERE to LISTEN

(free of course)
if that's way you like to receive your podcasts....
(but you'll need to go to the website to read the notes!

This time you'll hear about how the summer garden is progressing, with some frustrations and unexpected surprises along the way; as well as delving into my tangent for this episode: in-ground versus raised kitchen garden beds. Then, in the notes as promised, you will stumble upon some of my very favourite kitchen gardens in the world, who have their roots very firmly in the earth!

Now while I'm here, I realise that I've listed the very first inTHE KITCHEN GARDEN workshop for SATURDAY 16 FEBRUARY!  Before Christmas, that seemed like a long way off, but not so now! Of course I chose the date with good intent, so that you would have the chance to experience HIGH SUMMER in the KITCHEN GARDEN here for yourselves!

So I would be delighted to have you join me for this first workshop to kick off the new year!  There's so much going on in the garden on a daily basis, that I can't even quite cram it all into the podcast...so I'd love for you to come and see it with your own eyes.

As always, we'll begin the day with one of my garden-inspired cakes at morning tea, then run through an introduction to kitchen gardening in the Dairy.  After that, we'll be off into the garden to inspect everything that's going on...from all the pretties, right through to the compost. Then, with heads spinning, you can collapse at the long table for a seasonal lunch! Those days keep me on my toes I can tell you; but then I know Kim will be out the back, making sure all my lunch plans are on track! There will be seed to share for the coming season; and you can pick my brains with your myriad questions in real life!

All details and the booking form for this workshop and the other listed dates for inThe Kitchen Garden days for 2019 are on the website here. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact me.

With this Podcast episode in the bag, now I can get onto preparing the details for other upcoming workshops!  I'll have details for Emiko Davies' fabulous Big Italian Family Style Cooking Class and Lunch on Sunday 10 March to you next week, with Trisha Dixon's 'Dreamers, Drifters, Dilettantes, Writers & Muso's in the Mediterranean' on Friday 15 March not far behind. Goodness!!!! But that is going to be so exciting! And of course Trisha will have a garden or two thrown in for good measure - Trisha's images will have us all a-swoon without fail (and I'll devise a menu for lunch to match). The third event I'll be preparing details for is a Biodynamic Workshop with Hamish MacKay and Charlie Arnott on Saturday 30 March.  This one has long been in the pipeline and I can't wait to tell you more.

So - I have my work cut out in the coming weeks, but if you'd like to register your interest in any of these days before I manage to get the details live, do let me know!

In the meantime, I very much hope you enjoy episode four of the podcast!

Very best wishes,
