I thought I'd take the opportunity, as we near the end of this wintry week, to introduce an event to brighten your mood, lift your spirits and give you something to contemplate toward the season's end.
I am delighted to invite you to COLLABORATIONS WITH NATURE, a hands-on workshop with ephemeral artist SHONA WILSON at GLENMORE on SATURDAY 22 AUGUST.
Many of you will be familiar with Shona's work and her 'quest for small things'. I've no doubt that a day in her company will have you view the world in quite a different manner, alert to the minutiae so easily overlooked in our surroundings. With the garden at Glenmore laid bare, displaying winter clarity yet on the cusp of bud-swell, the opportunity to work with nature and Shona to guide and inspire, will make for a day of pure enchantment.
August is also one of the prettiest and most productive months in the Kitchen Garden, so I'll be sure to prepare a delicious long-table lunch to keep your thought process flowing.
"After twenty-five years of working and exhibiting artworks made from natural found material (from bones to bluebottles and everything in between), it is now my joy to 'come out of the studio' and share insights and wonders from my experiences of collecting, processing and making. Facilitating the innate creativity of others via the infinite generosity of nature can be a truly transformative experience. This is serious fun!" Shona Wilson.
You can discover more information about Shona, her work and what to expect from this ephemeral workshop at her website, with more detail of the Glenmore workshop and booking form here.
I've long been obsessed with the intricate detail of nature....but Shona's heightened awareness is palpable. I know those among you who enjoy participating in this kind of creativity will find it to be a fascinating day.
If you have any questions (and I'm sure this time that you might) please don't hesitate to contact me. Shona and I are very much looking forward to the day, and hope to see you here.
Very best wishes
