This weekend is the big one for plant hunters and garden lovers alike: THE COLLECTORS' PLANT FAIR is on once again at the Hawkesbury Race Club, Clarendon (between Richmond and Windsor), this SATURDAY 8 & SUNDAY 9 APRIL!
It's the one that generates mass hysteria on the Saturday morning when the gates open and visitors make a beeline for their favourite plant stalls, where a sense of anticipation and excitement fill the air (and later, a lot of plant material fills the car!). This year, a FLOWER COMPETITION is being introduced for the first time, so you have the opportunity to enter a bloom of your own and hopefully, a scene not dissimilar to the one in the image above will soon be created. All the details about how to enter, as well as all the details of the fair can be found here. All that said, of course, the Saturday afternoon and Sunday are always quite delightful, with plenty of plants to be discovered 'til close of the fair....and for most of us, it's the less frantic time that is most enjoyable!
Hot on the heels of my stand at the Camden Show last weekend, I'll have a stand at the COLLECTORS' PLANT FAIR too, so if there's anything in particular that you'd like me to bring along, do let me know. I'm waiting on new stock of dresses, but at the very least, will bring along a selection of sizes for you to try.
There are just a few spaces left for next week's AT HOME WITH MICKEY which I'm so looking forward to. I just picked the first quinces from the tree, so in addition to that apple cake I mentioned last time and the sorrel soup, we may have to do something with these fragrant beauties on the day. It will be a day of delightful pottering and picking, eating and chatting. If you'd like to join us, all the details can be found here.
But in the meantime......I'm off to the fair! And I'll hope to see you there too.
Very best wishes
