The first Epiphyllum of the season braved the smoky haze on open garden morning....

Hello everyone,

I'd just like to say a huge thank you to all who ventured to Glenmore for our 25th Anniversary Open Garden on what was, without question, an anxious weekend for all who live in the greater Sydney region.  Many of you travelled great distances to be here and we were delighted to be able to provide a little distraction from the tragic circumstances surrounding us.

While hessian-covered tables groaned under the weight of beautiful organic veg & herb seedlings, our quirky performers enchanted adults and children alike.  As Charlotte painted a vibrant still life and Harriet built a living willow structure, Holly signed books, Eon ladled pea & lovage soup with the Real Store girls and Robyn's tiny stall displayed scented pelargoniums & geraniums.  As I chatted to so many of you in the garden, Jillie continued to churn out cake after cake from my ovens and our dear friend Squidge watched over a continuous flow of customers in the Barn.  French antique furniture dotted the croquet lawn, and it was just too sad that Peta Trahar couldn't make it down from Bilpin to complete the picture. The local girls did a magnificent job 'manning the gate', while Larry caused a combination of chaos & confusion mixed with military precision (if that's possible) as usual! I send a great big THANK YOU to all our helpers. It takes a team of willing souls to make any event come together (even on such an intimate scale), and we were surrounded by a collection of very generous friends that weekend.

For those who were sadly unable to attend, I guess that one day, we might just have to do it all over again! I've uploaded some blog posts about the weekend, and if you'd like to see them, just click here.

In hope that those who couldn't make it are safe, I send, as always, best wishes,
