As the garden wakes from its winter slumber, bringing some new surprise each day, we're playing catch-up here with late winter tasks. But I thought I'd just drop you a quick reminder of treats that may be of interest, both here and elsewhere (as I know some of you are disappointed when I forget to mention these things!):
CAMDEN PARK OPEN WEEKEND 20 & 21 SEPTEMBER. If you haven't made a visit for awhile, many changes have taken place these last few years, with an enormous amount of energy expended in the restoration of the garden. I'll be on duty in the China Room on the morning of Sunday 21st, so do come & say hello! (I intend to write a blog post about Camden Park next week....so keep tuned).
FOOD & WORDS at THE MINT in Macquarie Street, SATURDAY 20 SEPTEMBER. There's an impressive array of speakers & I'm so looking forward to attending once again (I missed out last year but the inaugural event was inspiring).
Don't forget our much anticipated BIRD COW TREE, SUNDAY LONG LUNCH on 12 OCTOBER with MARTIN BOETZ (The Cooks Co-Op) & ALEX HERBERT (Bird Cow Fish). Half the places have already been taken, so don't wait too long if you're toying with the idea of joining us for this celebration of spring!
And also......last but not least, our SPRING/SUMMER KITCHEN GARDENING DAY on SATURDAY 1 NOVEMBER will be your last chance of the year to bone up on all the essential information you need to get your veggie garden through the summer months. I'll send more information soon, but bookings are open and this is always such an intoxicating day as we focus on summer - I can feel the warmth just writing about it!
If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact me. It was lovely to see so many of you at the Garden Show in Sydney last week - familiar faces and new, and despite the weather....we had a thoroughly fabulous time!
Best wishes for a terrific weekend,
