As some of you disappear into the realm of school holidays, or take the chance to escape the chill by travelling afar, I've no doubt others are desk-bound and a few will have settled into winter hibernation! Whichever is you, I thought I'd send a short winter update...
We enjoyed a wonderful Winter Chamber Music Concert at Glenmore last Sunday, with members of the Sydney Symphony filling the Dairy with soaring delights, followed by a hearty winter lunch with Eon Waugh in the Hayshed. For those who were hoping to join us for this event but missed out this time around, be sure to watch out for a spring/summer version, with a date to be announced very soon.
The winter Kitchen Garden is getting its skates on now, with the first shelling peas coming in thick & fast and enough winter leaves to satisfy even me! With this in mind, our next KITCHEN GARDENING DAY is on SATURDAY 30 AUGUST. On the cusp of a new season, it will be an ideal day to attend, whether you already have your own garden under way or are thinking of beginning a Kitchen Garden adventure. For full details see: INTRODUCTION TO KITCHEN GARDENING SPRING/SUMMER.
For those who keep asking, our next OPEN GARDEN WEEKEND (for Open Gardens Australia) will be 2 & 3 MAY, 2015! I know it seems a long way off, but it will be here soon enough. From my perspective, I already have propagating on my mind, as well as my 'to-do' list - see image above! Of course, I plan for it to be a weekend of exciting activity....
There are plenty of other ideas and events on the boil, so don't forget to check the website, or my regular blog posts, as we 'while away' these winter weeks. I'll look forward to hearing from you and to seeing you at Glenmore very soon.
Very best wishes as always,
ps I've no intention of going anywhere....so if you would like to call in for a peek in the Barn before our upcoming spring events, don't hesitate to get in touch!
