Willow panels....

Hello everyone,

Following the enormous enthusiasm of last year's participants at both PENNY SIMONS' WILLOW PANEL and WILLOW OBELISK WORKSHOPS, (who wouldn't be excited at making one of these, above?) I'm delighted to announce one of each again this year!

However, we do need ten people per workshop to go ahead, so at this stage, I'd like to ask for expressions of interest please, as Penny must source the material, which in itself, is a big task.

The proposed dates are FRIDAY 23 AUGUST for OBELISKS and FRIDAY 20 SEPTEMBER for PANELS.

As I haven't yet created a 'booking form', please contact me direct for details of the day (which are exactly the same as last year) and to register your interest. To see an image of Obelisks created by previous participants, click here!

I can never believe how the pile of material that Penny hauls into the Dairy and plonks on the floor early on a workshop morning, ends the day as a collection of beautiful forms, as you see in these two images...thanks to Penny's patient guidance, combined with the dexterity and sheer determination of participants.  Of course, you must be sure to bring a vehicle large enough to take your work home on the day (or scale your work to suit....squat domes or cloches are fabulous too!).

On another note, it's with great delight that I congratulate COUNTRY STYLE magazine on 30 YEARS of publication!  While we're celebrating 30 years at Glenmore with our Open Garden in November (and there'll be plenty more about that to come of course!) Country Style are celebrating with a Ball, at Carriageworks in Sydney on 30 May, and if you too, would like to join the evening, you can discover the details here.

I hope you're all enjoying these glorious autumn days, but oh how I wish it would rain!

With very best wishes as always,

Mickey
