I am delighted to invite you to this year's SPRING CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERT at GLENMORE on SUNDAY 15 OCTOBER.
I reckon the time has come for us to call these very special events a series....beginning as they did with the first three years ago: this will be our fifth since LETA KEENS of the SILO COLLECTIVE persuaded me to run with her kooky idea of not telling anyone who the musicians are, the instruments they will play or the program! It sounds crazy I know, but she has a knack for finding the best musicians, often well known....and everyone has been delightfully surprised, captivated, enchanted with the repertoire on each occasion.
This time, Leta tells me the musicians have played with the likes of the ACO, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Offspring, Pinchgut Opera, Sydney Chamber Opera, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Boston's Sound Icon and New York's West Ink. So I think we get the picture! Often musicians simply don't have the opportunity to play together and are brimming with ideas for collaboration, so having them play in the Dairy here is not only a treat for all of us, but for them too, and the notes they produce are filled with pure energy and joie de vivre.
I'm hopeful the weather will be kind in October....certainly the Borders will be at their peak floriferousness, so lunch in the Hayshed, prepared by ANNA SIMAMORA of THE FLOURY BAKER should be divine! Hopefully we can fling open all the windows of the Dairy to enjoy the sweetly scented spring air while music dances around our ears.....
Past experience tells me that attendees are inclined to book this event with groups of friends so they can enjoy this fabulous day together, so I suggest you book in quick! For all details and the booking form, please click here and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Leta, Anna, the musicians and I will very much look forward to seeing you here.
Very best wishes
