20 September – Kitchen Gardening Newsletter

Twig city, early spring last year….

Hello everyone,

It’s time to prepare for summer planting in the Kitchen Garden, and support structures are on the agenda:  tunnels, wig-wams and all manner of frames to support the abundant growth of upcoming summer veg.  Our spring KITCHEN GARDENING DAY is all about twigs & string, seed collecting, sowing, companion planting and all things relevant to the month ahead.

While we revel in the delight of each new blossom and feast on the tastes of spring; summer is now our focus and there is so much to do.

Now I realise its school holidays AND, someone just mentioned its the day before the long weekend.

But, we hope you will still be tempted to join us next FRIDAY 28 SEPTEMBER, to glean all the information you will need for preparing your own Kitchen Garden that long weekend, or so you can share all you learn with your children or grandchildren while they’re on holidays….gardening is such a delightful way to spend time with them and little hands can make light work!

So whether you come along to discover the joys of making a Kitchen Garden for the first time, or you wish to consolidate your knowledge at this time of the year, we will be delighted to welcome you here.  At lunch you will enjoy a cornucopia of spring veg at their best – every kind of pea (mangetout, sugar snap & shelling) is in abundance, broad beans are in full flush, so are fennel and all kinds of leaves.

This coming week I must find time to make marmalade of the cumquats and so you know (well, some of you do!) what that means for the menu on the day!

For further details and to make a booking, please click here.  If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to contact me.  To see all the lovely blossom we’ve been enjoying, take a quick peek at my recent blog posts.

I look forward to hearing from you and Linda and I very much hope to see you here next week.

Best wishes as always,

Mickey
