11 October – October Kitchen Gardening Day

Spring harvest….

Hello everyone,

Our Spring/Summer Fruit and Veg KITCHEN GARDENING DAY is just around the corner:  FRIDAY 26 OCTOBER, and already the day is filling fast.  It’s a thrilling time – out with the old and in with the new!  While I’m still preparing soil in some beds, I’ve tied together a series of twig structures and begun planting a cornucopia of summer veg.

As I write, the air is filled with the scent of late jasmin, lilac, passing wisteria, malus and citrus blossom.  The borders are swelling to their spring crescendo, roses are in bud and the philadelphus is about to pop!  It’s quite magical.  (See my recent blog posts for more….).

But the senses aside, there is a great deal of practical know-how to get to grips with.  Last month saw us looking at some untidy plants going to seed….this month we collect and tidy up.  We sow seed, plant seedlings and talk about getting shade sorted.  Potatoes are in the ground, asparagus pushing through the earth, and garlic is getting close to harvest time.  There is a lot to see and learn!

Linda and I very much hope you will join us to glean all the information you need, to get your own Kitchen Gardens off to a bright and healthy start to the new season.  For further details and to make a booking, please click here, or contact me if I can answer any questions you may have.

Also, I forgot to give you the link to the booking form (sorry!) for the COUNTRY GARDENS, COUNTRY HOSPITALITY Book Launch with HOLLY KERR FORSYTH on 2 NOVEMBER.  Half the places available have already sold, so if you’re thinking of joining us,  please click here for further details and to make a booking. It promises to be such a lovely day and I have now in fact seen the book – it’s delightful!

Best wishes as always and looking forward to seeing you soon,
