in the Kitchen Garden Spring/Summer

Behind the wire…a beauty whose taste I’m not yet quite sure about!

Hello everyone,

Hot on the heels of the Insta Live conversation with Charlie Albone on Tuesday evening and with spring gathering apace, I thought it timely to release the next KITCHEN GARDENING DAY on SATURDAY 01 OCTOBER

As we eat our way through abundant produce from the autumn planted, winter growing, spring main crop (with a drip-drip supply to the kitchen throughout those months) my thinking…if not quite doing yet, is about the season ahead. The next crop rotation is looming large on the near horizon!

01 OCTOBER is an ideal time to look at and learn from the kitchen garden here. With the spring veg at their best it will make for beaut taste-tests as we roam the garden before lunch…and you can see how all the detailed ideas for this current season come into their own at full tilt (supporting this season’s produce) and so learn how you might implement these useful tools in your own autumn/winter garden next year (I often think you learn more at the end of a season in full flush); whilst also learning how to tackle the season immediately ahead. It’s a double-whammy!

Kitchen gardening days are filled with information, conversation and Q&A…as you can pick my brains all day long…during the morning intro session when we cover all topics, out in the garden on inspection and during our long table lunch. These days are suitable for everyone…novice to old hand…there’s always something to learn. How I’ll hope to see you here!

All the details are on the booking page here and as always if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

You can see the little ‘reel’ I posted on Tuesday here…ostensibly as a useful reference for those who attended the ‘insta live’ but it’s for everyone. By the time 01 October rolls around…those tall pea wigwams will most probably have expired, but the successionally sown ones will have taken their place; the broad bean box should be positively dripping withbroad beans and there is nothing like popping a just-picked broad bean! I anticipate we’ll be munching them on the spot!

Very best wishes as always,

Mickey

ps I’ll be releasing details of all upcoming events and workshops over the coming weeks, in sequence…you can see the list with corresponding dates here!
