Apricot blossom in the kitchen garden this week.....

Hello everyone

Spring is certainly springing.....though I feel the blossom is opening with some trepidation this time 'round. While it's as gloriously pretty as ever, I wonder if there will be enough water to sustain the fruit it produces this year?  I do hope so.

I'm very much looking forward to my first inTHE KITCHEN GARDEN workshop of the season this Saturday, and as it's been fully booked for awhile, I'd like to invite you to the next one, on SATURDAY 6 OCTOBER.  During the intervening weeks, we'll be heading towards peak harvest of the autumn/winter growing veg, so while this week's participants will be viewing a mature winter/early spring garden and we'll be talking about preparation for what happens next.....October's participants will be in for a peek at crop rotation in full progress, and see the cornucopia of spring produce. That particular moment can be quite intoxicating....especially if we receive some rain (sadly we only had a light shower or two earlier this week but there's more forecast for next, so here's hoping). In the meantime though, we're still eating very well!

All details and to make a booking to the next inTHE KITCHEN GARDEN workshop, can be found here.  There will also be inThe Kitchen Garden days in November and December....with all details on the same web page.

I'm also about to place my spring order for dresses....so if by chance, you may be contemplating the purchase of an ESSENTIAL WORK DRESS for the season ahead, please can you let me know your size?  I know I've said it before but I'm always just making a wild guess at what sizes to order!  There's no rhyme or reason as to which may be the most popular, but if you send me a quick contact, I'll forward the size chart to you....they run from XS all the way through S, M, L to XL.  This time I've only bought a quantity of the linen in the natural colour, though I still have a couple of the darker autumn ones in stock (and will do another run of those next year).

What else is coming up?  Well....something very exciting is on the near horizon....so watch this space!  Don't forget GARDENS ON THE EDGE with CHRISTINE REID on 19 OCTOBER.  Bookings are steadily trickling in and it's going to be such a lovely day. All the details are here.

Let's hope a wet spring for us all is on the way!

Very best wishes

Mickey
